Butterflys!

My mom, Rylie and I headed to the Desert Botanical Gardens yesterday to see the butterfly exhibit. This was the first time that I have ever used a culture pass from the library and it was great! The culture pass is free entrance into one of our museums, the zoo, stuff like that. They only offer a certain number of them, so they are not always easy to get, but a great thing if you can get your hands on one. Anyways, Rylie loved the butterfly exhibit. You go into a big greenhouse like building and there are butterflys everywhere! We even had a few of them land on us. Rylie actually enjoyed walking around the rest of the gardens while we checked out all of the wildflowers and desert plants (and I know she enjoyed the kettle corn snack that we got!). The day was complete for her when Grandma bought her some butterfly stickers on our way out! :)

She loved the BIG cactus!

Swimming

Rylie absolutely loves swimming right now. I guess that is a really good thing since summer is right around the corner! Last week, my aunt and uncle from Minnesota were in town and they were staying in this great condo in Scottsdale that had a heated pool, so we headed out there for some swimming. This is the first time she has been swimming this year when she is not in a swim lesson and can do what she wants...she is crazy! The pool was still pretty cold even though it was heated, but she did not care even a little bit. She would have spent hours jumping in to Daddy and climbing out again if we had let her!

Happy Birthday Cayden!

My cousin Ashley's little boy Cayden recently turned 2 and today, we celebrated! He is really into Toy Story and Buzz, so that was the theme, and it was so cute. Rylie's favorite part of the day was probably a toss up between the bounce house and the pinata.

She was just a little excited about the pinata.

The adorable birthday boy and mama.

Happy Birthday Cayden! We love you!

Croup

So last Tuesday night, Rylie went to sleep like normal and then woke up 3 hours later with the most awful sounding cough that I have ever heard. She literally sounded like a barking seal! So needless to say, after a very sleepless night, we headed to the doctor where we found out that she had croup. After a steroid shot (and a whole lot of tears), we headed home. The next 5 days were spent at home, on the couch, watching movies and a whole lot of Mickey Mouse. I am so glad that she has finally turned a corner and seems to be (almost) back to her normal, happy self!

Garden Time!

The weather has been so amazing and Rylie loves to be outside, so she has been spending a lot of time with my mom in her garden. She loves to pick carrots and help wash them off in the outdoor sink that Brandon made for my mom a few years ago.

Brunch and Cupcakes!

We headed to the park this morning to celebrate Rylie's friend Davyn's 3rd birthday. I thought it was such a great idea to do her party in the morning...less people at the park, no fighting nap times, etc. The weather was great and Rylie always has fun at the park, so all in all, it was a very successful morning!

Go Gym Devils!

Part of my job where I work is helping out the ASU Men's Gymanstics Club team. Tonight, they had a combined meet with the ASU Women's team, so we decided it would be fun to go. Rylie didn't really get the whole gymnastics thing, but she would occasionally say "awesome!" when someone would finish a routine and she just liked to clap when everyone else did. She looked cute in her ASU gear though!

"Singing" the National Anthem. :)

Rylie and her buddy Tatum...and yes, she has a peanut in her mouth. :)

Rylie and Amy...one of her favorite people in the whole world. She gets more excited to see Amy at the gym than do anything else...and that is saying something!

Counting the gymnasts on her poster.
