AWANA Time!

Rylie started AWANA! She is in the 2 year old group and it's called "Puggles". My mom and I do a Bible study every Wednesday night and Rylie goes to Puggles. So far, she seems to have a lot of fun!

Camping Part 2

On our first afternoon up in the mountains, we decided to take a little drive to the Wood's Canyon Lake store to get a "special treat" (those 2 words are Rylie's favorite thing ever!). The store has tons of little ice cream treat options, and Rylie elected for the pink one...big shocker! :) Boy, did she enjoy eating her pink ice cream sandwich out by the lake!

Brandon and my dad headed out later that afternoon to see if they could find any elk. Brandon had never seen or heard one, so we were all excited when they actually found some to see!

We were camping, so of course, you have to have a campfire! Rylie thought she was pretty hot stuff with her head lamp that Daddy gave her to wear. :)

Brandon and my dad found a turkey feather for Rylie...she, and the dogs, loved it!

The next day was filled with bubbles, playing in the dirt, coloring, and making zip loc bag ice cream before we packed up and headed home. It was such a perfect camping trip!

Camping Trip

My dad got drawn to hunt for elk this year, so we headed up to the mountains with my parents so that he could do some scouting and Rylie could go camping! We go to a beautiful area up on the rim near Wood's Canyon Lake. It is extremely peaceful, quiet, and even was cold! Rylie had absolutely no idea what we were doing when we said we were going camping, but she was excited all the same (side note-when she woke up from her nap on Friday, I watched her on her monitor jump up and head over to her dresser where she chose the girliest pink shirt she owns. She then called to me that she needed a skirt, so I came in and she picked out a white ruffle skirt...and then she proceeded to tell me, "Mommy, I'm ready to go camping!". The other funny thing was when my parents pulled into a gas station in Payson she looked at my mom and said, "Grandma, are we camping now?"...see, no idea what she was in for.).

Sleeping in a normal bed in the tent trailer!

She loved her morning hot chocolate from a big girl cup.

My little gymnast...every single log we found instantly became a balance beam, complete with a jump off the end and a "ta-da"!

She loves "her doggie". :)

Blowing away the flower...I can't for the life of me remember what these are called (thistles??) but I know that I spent forever as a kid watching them fly away when you blew on them. :)

More to come in a later post...

Character Day at Disneyland!

Since we didn't even go into Disneyland the first day we were there, we promised Rylie we would go back on Monday morning before our flight out that afternoon. She literally had been asking for weeks to go see Mickey and Minnie and take a picture with them. :) So I was kind of hoping we would see them on Main Street so we wouldn't have to wait in line at their houses. :) It half way happened that way! Right when we walked in we saw Goofy with no line so we headed right to him. Mickey was there with a huge line, but Rylie was very content just seeing him and made no mention of a picture, so we didn't ask!

As we headed towards Minnie's house, Rylie asked to ride Alice and Wonderland and then we spotted the princess line. She has just started to love the princesses and the line wasn't terrible so she got to meet 3 of the princesses.

After the princesses, Rylie was still asking for Minnie, so we went to her house and, of course, she wasn't there. I asked around a bit and found out she would be back in 10 minutes, so I waited (at the very front of the line!!) while Sarah took Rylie to play in the house. A quick photo with Minnie and the traditional ride on Winnie the Pooh (really, that ride is Disneyland to Rylie!) and our plan was to head home so Rylie could get a quick nap before flying home. Rylie had other plans and fell asleep in her stroller as we were walking out, so we headed to lunch instead so she would at least sleep in her stroller. It was a little bit of a mad dash to the airport, but we made our flight (thank goodness the Orange County airport is relatively small)! :)

San Clemente and Fisherman's

We took Rylie back to San Clemente Beach and then went to celebrate Sarah's birthday at Fisherman's restaurant on the pier. Rylie did love the beach (though, she was definitely tired from the past couple of days as she was not as in to it as last time) and dinner was outstanding! It was a very fun afternoon and evening!

Uncle Blake got to come to the beach with us this time...Rylie loved it!

Auntie Sarah found a sand crab...Rylie didn't really know what to think.

Rylie's dinner view :)

The birthday girl!

Peanut butter pie...only the single greatest dessert ever!
