The Cutest Fan

Ok, well maybe I'm a little biased...but she did look pretty cute all decked out in her Diamondbacks gear! We headed to a game this past weekend, and she did great. The game was so fun! Unfortunately, the Dodgers won again (that seems to be the theme of every D-backs game I went to this year...they lost) and it was fun to be able to go to one more game this season.

"These games are a lot of work!" :)

4 Months and Counting...

Rylie had her 4 month well check today (she is a bit closer to 5 months now...but that is how scheduling goes!). Here are some new things that she is doing-

*She weighs 15 lbs 7 oz and is 25.75 inches long...wow she has grown!

*She wears mostly 3 month and 3-6 month clothes.

*She finally will roll from her back to her stomach...and then promptly get super mad that she is on her stomach! She still hates tummy time!

*She rode 11 1/2 hours in her car seat in one day on our road trip! Most adults that I know can't handle being in the car for that long. :)

*Her favorite book in the world is the fingerpuppet "Little Ladybug" book. She will instantly stop whatever she is doing if that book comes out.

*She loves Wrigley! (The video below is a glimpse of that)

*She has started eating cereal and loves it. She eats about 3 tablespoons total per day. She is also eating 4oz of soy formula every 3 hours.

*She still does not sleep at night. She wakes up to eat anywhere from 2-5 times per night (we are starting on breaking that habit tonight!).

The last 4 months have been amazing! We love you to death Rylie Beth!

To Idaho We Go!

After our time in Kalispell, we were off to my cousin Jody's house outside of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. This trip did not help me want to stay living in Arizona for the rest of my life...all of these places are beautiful! And I loved the cooler weather and rain! Things you definitely miss during the summer in Phoenix. Jody and her husband JD have a little boy, Chase, who was so cute with Rylie! He wanted to read her books, would bring me blankets to cover her up when she was ready to go to bed, and would always find and put her pacifier back in whenever it came out.

Jody is a hair dresser, so I went with her one of the days to work to see her shop and meet all of the people that she works with. We also went on a hike to some waterfalls and spent a day in Coeur d'Alene (I really could live there!) shopping and having lunch. After a few days there, we started the drive home. Rylie again did amazing! She literally spent 2 solid days in her car seat and rarely cried. If she did start crying, we would bring out this little ladybug book and she would instantly stop crying. My poor mother probably read that book about 100 times on this trip! :) All in all, I don't think the trip could have gone any better than it did! I love that our little one is such a good traveller...that means many more fun trips in the future!

On the Road Again...

After the wedding, we stopped in Bozeman to drop Brandon off at the airport and then headed up to Kalispell, Montana to visit 2 of my aunts and cousins. They live in the most beautiful area and the weather was amazing! (Well, for us Arizonians at least...I consider rainy and cool weather pretty awesome...others may not agree :) )You may remember from previous blog posts that we spent some time here last summer and thought we had literally found the perfect place to live. My aunt and uncle live on 40 acres of beautiful land that backs up to national forest. There pool has been designed to look like a pond and the grounds are covered with the greenest grass you will ever see and a ton of flowers. It is hard not to love it there! Since last summer, my cousin Nick and his wife Jen have had a baby girl, Aubrianna. We had so much fun getting our two little ones together. I think Aubrianna was a little bored with Rylie since she really couldn't do much with her! :) We spent our time there relaxing and just spending time together. I also got my huckleberry milkshake! :) Montana is one of the only places that you can get huckleberry anything and I love everything huckleberry! We only got to spend a few days there, but it was great to see everyone and have a chance for them to meet Rylie.

We found this chapel on our beautiful drive from the ranch. It is called "The Soldiers Chapel" and the whole driveway is lined with American Flags...it is stunning!

Jen and I with our little ones! (I so wish we lived closer together so they would get to grow up as playmates!)

Rylie and Aubrianna

Rylie playing with her new toy...a moose! Unfortunately, we didn't actually get to see any live moose on our trip! We definitely went to find some numerous times :)

Not a bad view for feeding time! :)

Girls day out for our huckleberry shakes.

Rylie and her Gigi having a chat (that is my Grandma).

Rylie also loved the cats! She thought they were the funniest things and couldn't wait to touch them whenever they came up to us. They are super friendly cats because they were bottle fed kittens, they literally come running to you when you go outside! This one loved to play with Rylie through the window.

Breathtaking

On Sunday, September 5th, Missy and Brad got married. It was one of the most memorable weddings that I have ever been a part of. Of course there was a beautiful bride, happy family and friends, a super fun reception-but this wedding also had an awesome location, a super fun bridal party, and did I mention snow? Yes, it snowed in September!

The day started off freezing! I bundled Rylie up and headed into the main lodge for breakfast and then I met up with the rest of the bridesmaids to get ready. After an afternoon of hair and make-up (which it was pouring rain the entire time) we were ready and Missy looked amazing. She put on her dress and all of us started crying...she was perfect. The dress, her birdcage vail and feather in her hair, every was so...Missy! Breathtaking was the word that everyone used to describe her. It was so fun to see my oldest friend ready to get married!

Luckily, Missy was a super easy going bride and didn't let the crazy weather ruin her wedding day. We watched the rain clouds roll in and then continued to watch as it rained...and rained...and rained some more. Eventually Missy had to make a decision to change a few things-the location for one (the ceremony was supposed to be outside in a meadow by the Gallatin River (the river in "The River Runs Through It" with Brad Pitt-random fact for the day!), so they just put up a tent in the same meadow, by the same river) and we were all supposed to arrive at the ceremony in a horse drawn wagon, which obviously could not happen in the pouring rain. But she had the greatest attitude about the whole thing! She just wanted to get married and as long as that could still happen, the rest was just details. While we were upstairs waiting for our rides to the ceremony, we looked out and realized that the rain looked a little different...as in it was now floating, not falling! It started to snow!

The grabed a few dads and brothers with cars at the ceremony to come and transport all of the wedding party to the ceremony site and the snow stopped for just a bit...like just long enough to get Missy out of her vehicle and down the aisle with her dad. Her and Brad got married under a tent (which still looked amazing inside and was actually very warm thanks to the heaters lining the aisle) with the snow still coming down outside. It was beautiful!

The pictures that followed will be amazing when she gets them back. Our black bridesmaid dresses with our bright flowers really popped out with a snowy white background! The rest of the night was a blast! The reception was already supposed to be indoors, so no changes there! Everyone had such a fun evening of food, drinks and lots of dancing. It turned out to be the most memorable and perfect day for the wedding of one of my best friends.

Rylie in her dress that my mom made her for the wedding.

Lifelong friends and the mother's that all help raise us! We probably all spent as much time at each others houses growing up as we did our own! :)

320 Ranch

We made it to the beautiful ranch where Missy and Brad's wedding was going to be held. The drive to get there was amazing, and we all realized why Montana is called Big Sky country...the sky looks like it goes on forever! We relaxed around the ranch all day and then had a very fun rehearsal dinner that night.
