Luau

The main reason we went to California was so that we could help out with Brian and Sheila's bridal shower. It was luau themed and everything turned out so cute! Rylie also had a blast playing with the other kids at the party. It's a good thing she is so easy going, as we didn't end up leaving until 11pm and didn't get home until after midnight! :)

Rylie felt pretty special getting to try on her tiara that she will get to wear when she is a flower girl in the wedding.

The cute gift table

The cupcakes were amazing! Sheila's mom made the adorable cupcake with palm tree, flip flop, and surfboard edible toppers.

Yes, the pjs came on at one point...here Rylie is trying to play limbo by herself. :)

Car's Land!

Rylie and I headed to California for a long weekend. Brandon was going to come with us (had a plane ticket and everything!) but then he got promoted and had to be in training, so he couldn't miss the 2 days of work to go. :( So just Rylie and I flew over there. Thankfully, she is a fabulous little traveler and listens very well...lugging her car seat through the airport potentially could have been a lot harder if I was having to carry her as well. :)

We flew in on Thursday night, and of course, headed to Disneyland on Friday. We actually barely even went into Disneyland, instead we spent the time in California Adventure and at the new Car's Land. While it was still crowded, it was no where near as crowded as the last time, so we actually went on a ride! :)

Rylie is starting to love rides! She giggles and shrieks the entire time we are on them, so it is super fun to take her on new stuff now. :)

This place is always so exhausting! :)

Rylie at 2 years old

I have been wanting to write down some of the things that Rylie has been up to for quite awhile and now I have adorable 2 year old pictures to go with it!

Rylie is super chatty...about everything! I guess I don't really know how much 2 year old's normally talk, but most people in public are shocked when we tell them her age because of how much she is talking. We get full conversations about everything, and I admit, sometimes hearing "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" 9,000 times a day does get a little tiring! Most of the time, I love hearing her talk and hearing what is going on inside her little head. :)

She still loves music! She pretty much sings along with all of her songs when they play in the car. I love hearing "Deep and Wide", "Joy, Joy, Joy", "Whole World" (this is what Rylie calls "He's got the whole world in his hands", "Battle of Jericho", and of course, the all time favorites of "Jesus loves me" and "B-I-B-L-E" to name a few. I am always amazed when she just starts singing a new song that I had no idea she even knew!

Rylie is a pretty good eater most of the time. She just eats whatever we are eating which is great! Her favorites are still mac and cheese, rice and beans, peas, any fruit (especially blueberries), and palenta. She also loves to go to "Old McDonalds" for french fries and chicken nuggets. :)

Some of her trademark phrases right now are, "Mommy, I have an idea!" and if she can't have something that she wants we get "I'm never going to get my         !" . This one cracks us up...such a dramatic little thing! She also repeats everything she hears which is so funny when she starts busting out with some of the phrases that Brandon always says (ex. "Easy, Thunder!").

She still loves "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and is also really into "Little Einsteins". She loved "Caillou", but Mommy and Daddy got tired of his whining and always getting his way (really! that is what we want to teach toddlers?!) so no more "Caillou" for her! Currently, she loves watching the Olympics (she is her mother's daughter!) and asks for swimming whenever it is on. Listening to her say the word Olympics is pretty cute. :)

Rylie is a great sleeper at night (10-11 hours) and naps about 1 1/2 hours everyday. She is a bit of a peanut and can still wear a lot of her 18-24 month clothing, though she is starting to fit into some 2T. She wears a size 5-6 shoe.

I'm sure there are so many other things that I should be writing down to remember them, but this is what I came up with for now! She is so easy going about life and is so easy to travel with (thankfully, since we did a lot of it this summer!). She also loves to be the life of the party and is a little social butterfly. We love her to pieces and are constantly amazed at how fast she is growing up!

Big thanks to my cousins (aka Radiant Photography...check them out, they are great!) for the quick little photo shoot at their house in Venice...yes, I said house! They live across the street from the beach! Also, Brandon was home working when we went to visit, which is why is is missing from the pictures this time. Someone has to work hard for us! :)
