Beach and Birthday

The first full day in Maui was spent-where else?-at the beach! We walked from our condo down to the beach and spent a great morning. Jeff, Laura, Asher, Bre, and Scotty joined us.

Our first day in Maui was also Bre's birthday! After the morning at the beach, the girls headed to get pedicures to start the birthday celebrations!

The evening, we all went to Jeff and Laura's house for dinner.

Aloha!

After over a year of planning, we finally were headed to Hawaii to visit Jeff and Laura (and now Asher!)! We were a little nervous about the flight (hello child that never stops moving!) and to be honest...it was so not fun. But, on the bright side, we ended up in Maui! The flight was very long (7 hours to be exact) and Grayson just wanted down (the flight attendants took him from us 2 different times to try and help) but we had very nice people around us who at least acted like they didn't mind the screaming 9 month old. :)

This is what we did when we got to Honolulu for our 2 hour layover. :) Yep, we were those parents that let their kid crawl all over the airport floor...it's amazing what you will do when you are desperate!

Wahoo! We are here! Grayson screamed for the entire (thankfully, short) flight from Honolulu to Maui and then promptly fell asleep AS WE LANDED! Seriously!?? Luckily for us, Jeff and Mimi were waiting for us in Maui!

The entire crazy travel day soon became a distant memory since this was the view from our condo balcony (or as the locals call it, a lanai). Did I mention we could see whales jumping in the distance!!?

Some of the crew...my cousins (Bre and Scotty) were there too! This was going to be a fun week! (I have no idea why Rylie is covering her eyes in this picture. :) )

Valentines Day 2014

Grayson's 1st Trip to Disneyland

This is a big deal in our family! :) We decided very last minute to go to California the weekend of Brandon's birthday, and even more last minute decided that a day at Disneyland was long overdue. It was the perfect time of year to go-amazing weather and no crowds.

Grayson's very first ride was actually "Ariel's Undersea Adventure" (again, when you have an older sister, princesses are just a part of your life!), and he was pretty mesmerized for the whole thing. However, his absolute favorite thing the entire day was the carousel (which was also one of Rylie's when she was little and still is on her top 5...seriously, can't we get these at a mall?! We are a Disneyland for goodness sakes!).

So while Rylie and Cinderella were chatting, it came up that Ariel is Rylie's favorite princess. So after Cinderella took a picture with her, she grabbed her by the hand, completely left her post, and walked Rylie to the next room. She squatted down next to her until the next princess was done with some other little girls and then introduced Rylie to Ariel! This is just one of the many reasons that we love Disneyland...they do little things that go above and beyond and practically made Rylie's entire day.

Rylie and Mimi still have such a special bond and love being at Disneyland together. :)

How can you not just love this little guy! He did so great the entire day and even took a pretty great nap right in the middle of everything.
