Beach Babe

One of the other days in California, we headed to a great kids consignment shop (I am so in love with these!) in Newport Beach. After leaving with our treasures (some very cute outfits along with one pair of adorable pink Converse All-Stars and one pair of equally adorable Baby Uggs!!), Brandon was really craving Wahoo's for lunch so we went up to Huntington Beach for some very yummy tacos. After lunch we walked around the main street and pier. It was overcast weather, but we loved every minute of it!





Rylie loved looking at everything on the pier. She even found the surfers in the water below and was very interested in what they were doing.

So we currently do not have annual passes to Disneyland (tear!) so we didn't go to Disneyland while we were in California (this is a big deal if you know us!)...but the positive side of this is that it frees up some of our time so that we can do other things that we normally wouldn't do. This time, we headed to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. We had no idea if Rylie would really care, so we picked something that would be fun for us. Boy were we wrong! She loved it! From the very first big tank we walked up to, she was talking to the fish and trying to grab them as they swam by. She giggled and kicked and tried to kiss the glass...way more than I thought she would. The aquarium was actually pretty good too. It was a great way to spend an afternoon!

It's a bird...it's a plane!

That's right! Rylie went on her first plane ride this past weekend. We headed to California for Brandon's fall break, and this time we decided to fly. I wasn't sure how it would all go since we left on Saturday morning at 8:00am...which means getting to the airport at like 6:30...which means getting up and leaving super early. Luckily, Rylie is quite the morning baby so that early morning flight was actually quite pleasant. :) I made sure that she was ready to eat right when we were taking off, so she didn't even seem to notice the pressure on her ears. She played with Brandon for a little while and then promptly fell asleep and stayed asleep until we were on the ground again (of course, the flight is only about 50 minutes long). So apparenty, car or plane, it doesn't really matter...Rylie is turning into quite the little traveller!

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

We got a crazy downpour in the middle of the afternoon today. Rylie was at my mom's house (she watches her on Mondays while I'm at work) so she took her outside on their patio to enjoy the rain. She loved it!

5 Months and Food!

Rylie turned 5 months yesterday and has really been doing some fun stuff!

*She will sit up by herself for quite awhile now especially if there are some toys within her reach.

*She is all over the place! Not crawling, but rolling. We have found her half under the coffee table a few times.



*She loves her baths!



*She sleeps on her side most of the time now. Her bed times have been so much better! We put her down and then she rolls around for a little bit and then falls asleep on her own. She still does not always sleep through the night, but it is slowly getting better. We only feed her once and it isn't until around 4.

*She has started food! So far she has had peas and carrots and seems to really like them both. I made my first batch of baby food and thought it was so fun! :)



*She went to the nursery for the first time so that I can go to a Wednesday morning Bible study and they have told me that she is doing great.

She really is a very happy and easy going baby. Now that her nights are getting better, she is so fun during the day...she seems much happier, and that definitely makes us happy! :)
